Hungry Eyes In Norwich

After an hours road-trip we arrived in Norwich; a very gloomy, rainy Norwich.

But the weather wasn't going to stop my sister and I from celebrating one of her special birthdays.

We arrived by lunchtime and headed over to Cafe No 33 to fill up on caffeine and some of the best comfort food in town.

I indulged in the best Mac 'n' Cheese I've had. Warm and moreish, with Worcestershire sauce and cherry toms. Completely delicious.

Geri opted for sweetcorn fritters with bacon and guac, fixing cravings for both breakfast and lunch.

We managed to resist the temptation for the infamous No 33 cakes, knowing that our afternoon booking would fix our sugar cravings.

As we walked around the city we were welcomed by some of Norwich's latest residents.

GoGo Dragons have uniquely decorated 84 dragons dotted around the city, which are located specially for anyone to see either by following their trail or simply by finding them with every turn you take. All dragons will be sold in auction with profits going to charity, so head to Norwich sharpish and find your favourite.

GoGo King Tut.

If you're still wondering how on earth we resisted all of those cakes, then ponder no more.

Afternoon Tea is one of our favourite things to do - hence why it's included in both of our birthday celebrations every year, without fail.

The Assembly House is a beautiful Georgian building in the historic city - known for their Afternoon Tea and a wonderful venue for any occasion.

The best of the four: a delightful little raspberry and crème brûlée tart with a perfectly creamy eton mess, topped with a mini meringue.

Classic sandwiches: ham, egg, smoked salmon and cucumber with cream cheese - so moreish that we had top up of the sandwiches (the charming staff will refill any of the plates as you please).

Warm scones which were soon topped with jam and cream... something I shall never get tired of. A particular favourite feature of mine at The Assembly House Afternoon Tea was the cheese and chive scones; deciding between sweet and savory is always a tough decision.

Eager to get as many Norwich hotspots into our day as possible we headed for some pre-theatre cocktails at a fun little bar/restaurant that would also sit very nicely in Cambridge. Mr Postles Apothecary

This is where pictures come into play; heaps of character and exciting displays filled the room, with some amazing music to keep you entertained!

Happy hour fueled the excitement for the theatre more so. It was time to be captivated by Johny Castle.

That name doesn't ring a bell with you?

How about... "Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

You must have it by now.

Dirty Dancing is a favourite film of my sisters and mine, so it's understandable that we were a little hesitant about the show living up to the film - how can you beat Swayze?

All expectations were exceeded. It oozed everything it should: sex, romance, thrilling dances, a killer soundtrack and an incredible cast (including a Johnny to melt your heart).

If you get the chance, book the tickets! I must make the effort to go to more shows, what theatre recommendations do you have?
